Having moved to Wiltshire in 2023, I have been influenced by the presence of the numerous White Horses inscribed into the chalk hills in the landscape. This confirms the "Conversation" that Horses have had with humans throughout history, pinpointing their huge influence on mankind. This visual dialogue and the work of the great masters inspired me to create this recent work.

I based this sculpture on a friend's beautiful thoroughbred mare. Her elegant stance stretching forward defines and enhances her beautiful anatomy and musculature.

My inspiration for this bronze edition of “turning horse head” was from the wonderful colour of aged bronze. By finishing this sculpture in a verdigris patina, it is reminiscent of fifth century history and gives the horse a great sense of nobility and longevity.

My inspiration for this bronze edition of “turning horse head” was from the wonderful colour and ageless beauty of the Parthenon frieze. By finishing this sculpture in a stone patina, it is reminiscent of fifth century history and gives the horse a great sense of nobility and longevity.

This bronze sculpture was inspired by a fantastic
thoroughbred horse that I ride called “Much Admired,” a name that really suits his “look at me” demeanour. I have tried to capture his soulful and thought provoking gaze in this sculpture.

The stone patina is inspired by the wonderful Ancient Greek sculptures of The Parthenon.
